1. Who is Michelle Diamond?
I am a native New Yorker who now loves living in Beverly Hills and southern California. I have two sides – an analytical and ambitious business side (I run multiple companies,) and a creative side (I am a trained dancer and love to sing.) I also love the finer things in life and to laugh and joke a lot as well.
2. How do you define fashion and or style?
I define fashion and style as an expression of oneself. While fashion can change, a lot of it comes back again over time. While personal style can change as well, it is typically more fundamental to someone’s personality.3. What influences your style? ie travel, work, movies, magazines, social media trends, celebrities, color, etc.
Many people, places, and experiences influence my style. Some of it has come from magazines, celebrities, and people I may see on the street. It also sometimes comes from work, my own imagination, and while shopping in stores.4. How has your style evolved?
When I was younger, my style fit my old neighborhood and consisted of red lipstick, bamboo earrings, and much tighter clothes. As I started becoming older, I have taken on a more ‘simple, elegant’ style. Whether it is workday, daytime, after hours, or evening wear, I tend to still keep that style.5. What does your dream wardrobe consist of?
I love 100% silk fabrics and organic high-quality clothes. My dream wardrobe is to have a lot of everything – dresses, shirts, blouses, pants, shorts, shoes, accessories, etc. I would have them color coordinated in a large walk-in closet.6. If you were to give fashion advice to your younger self what would it be?
My fashion advice would be to have fun and embrace standing out. I would tell my younger self that my fashion would evolve as I evolved as a woman. Also, that people will respect and admire my confidence and fashion confidence in general, so always be grateful when it occurs.
7. How important is it to be body positive and to appreciate the skin that you're in?
It is extremely important. When I was younger there was a certain part of my body that I wanted to change. Then I realized that loving my body and being comfortable in my own skin was the most important thing. I now love my body and never changed a thing. Being happy and healthy is what matters to me most.8. What do you love about jewelry? What is your absolute favorite is it earrings, necklaces, etc.
I love how shiny and beautiful jewelry looks on my body. I also love how it can enhance a great outfit. I enjoy wearing real diamond and pearl earrings, necklaces, watches, bracelets, etc.9. How do you incorporate accessories and jewelry into your daily looks?
I tend to go for items that match or complement my outfit. I also pick jewelry that matches my mood. Additionally, I ensure that my jewelry and accessories fit the occasion or events that I attend.10. What are your non-negotiables... What must you have / wear / do? and what are your, “I’m never ever doing or wearing that”?
My non-negotiables are jewelry. That consists of earrings and a necklace at the very least. I feel ‘naked’ without my earrings on. I typically like many styles of clothes. However, I would never wear anything completely see-through, way too short, or way too tight. It has to complement my body and maturity.11. Tell us why you choose fashion and style. So what we mean by that is, we don’t have to dress up, we don’t have to adorn ourselves with jewels and embellish with accessories, but we do, we choose to… why do you?
Because I love it! I love to dress up and look good every day. I especially enjoy getting decked out in my gowns and formal wear to red carpet and charity events. It makes me feel alive and like a queen.
12. What’s your favorite fashion/style quote or mantra?
“It is better to be prepared and have no opportunity, than to have an opportunity and not be prepared.”
In fashion and in life, preparation is key. I also try to make sure I and my closet are prepared to always look great, regardless of the situation or occasion.13. How and where can people connect with you?
